Our Supplies
Our Supplies
There are a lot of different kinds of materials that bead makers use. What about us? Our Earrings are not hypoallergenic, but we hope to find posts that are. The posts that we use are called French Hooks. We buy our beads and our hooks from many various local stores. We only make dangly earrings, not studs. We are also starting to make our own beads. To make our earrings we use a special technique that makes a swirl on the top of our earrings. We also use head pins to make the earrings smooth. We are constantly trying to improve our technique and to make our products better.

The History Of Glass Beads
The History Of Glass Beads
Glass bead making is among the oldest human arts, dating back 3,000 years, in Egypt.
Probably the earliest beads of true glass were made by the winding method. Glass at a temperature high enough to make it workable, is laid down or wound around a steel wire coated in a clay slip. The wound bead then will be shaped with wood, stainless steel, brass or marble tools and paddles. While still hot, the bead will be decorated with rods of colored glass. This whole process is making lamp work Beads.
The drawing of glass beads is also very ancient. To make a drawn glass bead, insert a hollow metal tube into a ball of hot glass. Once the glass is solid again, a patern is simply drawn on the outside of the bead.

Hi BEAD followers;
We've managed to create a logo for the business.
Do you like it? What's your opinion? Tell us in the comments.
Also, we're thinking about selling our designs at the Arlington Flea Market in May. We've got some cool blue and green earrings that you can check out in the "products" page. Enjoy the (somewhat updated) site!
